Featured Products: The M40 and The ITX

The M40:

M40Built with the durability and simplicity found in every Industrial Scientific instrument, the M40 is a reliable, low cost gas monitoring solution for confined space or personal monitoring applications. The M40’s rugged composite case is immune to RFI, and houses four discrete sensors, a large LCD readout, and integral lithium-ion battery for up to 18 hours continuous runtime.

The M40 continuously monitors oxygen, combustible gases, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen sulfide in any combination, activating bright alarm light, 90-dB audible and internal vibrating alarms when gas concentrations exceed the preset limits. Additional standard features include Peak/Hold functions, STEL and TWA readings, a continuous loop datalogger and ‘Quick-Cal’ calibration.

The M40 comes standard with a charger, leather carrying case, cell-phone-style and suspender clips, belt clip and calibration cup with tubing. Available accessories include SP40 motorized remote sampling pump, 12 VDC automobile charger, and M40 datalink. Weighing 8.6 ounces, the M40 is small in size and big in value.

  • Standard vibrating, 90 dB audible and ultra bright visual alarms
  • 18-hour runtime with integral Li-ion battery pack
  • Two-year all-inclusive warranty

Features & Benefits

  • Compact, light, rugged ABS case: Compact size provides reliable performance that won’t weigh you down. The 8.6 oz. unit fits in the palm of your hand or clips to pocket, hard hat or belt. Rugged ABS construction provides durable protection against impact or drops.
  • Li-Ion battery pack: Provides longer runtimes, with or without the pump. Quickly recharge the batteries right in the unit.
  • Standard datalogging: Internal memory can record up to 75 hours of exposure data for record-keeping.
  • Quick calibration: Saves time by calibrating all sensors at once. Reduces costs compared to standard calibrations by lowering amount of gas used for each calibration.
  • Graphical LCD: LCD provides simultaneous readings of all gases being monitored. Graphical operating icons display battery charge status, missing sensor conditions and other relevant data.
  • Vibrating alarm: Additional warning feature that alerts user of alarm conditions in noisy environments.
  • Visual and audible alarms: Bright LED visual alarm and 90 dB audible
alarm provide additional protection in hazardous conditions.

The ITX:

ITXThe iTX Multi-Gas Monitor is the industry's most versatile portable gas detection instrument. Designed to grow with you as your monitoring needs change, the iTX can go from being a single gas unit to a six-gas monitor, or anything in between, with just a few simple user configurations and sensor changes. Featuring advanced "smart" sensor technology, the iTX is capable of recognizing and configuring a wide assortment of field replaceable, interchangeable sensors. Providing simplified, single-button operation and calibration functions, the iTX's special Quick-Cal feature quickly calibrates up to four sensors at once.

The iTX also features a backlit LCD that simultaneously displays all gases monitored, ultra-bright LED visual alarms and a powerful 90 dB audible alarm, all encased in a compact, rugged stainless steel housing to provide maximum durability and RFI protection.

The iTX provides flexible, user-configurable data-logging and hygiene functions that allow the monitor to store up to 300 hours of survey data when logging at one minute intervals. The unit also includes STEL and TWA readings and alarms as well as iButton™ technology, for automatic entry of User and Site ID information.

The iTX boasts superior security and safety features including configurable user access codes to protect calibration and alarm settings, and a time delay power button to prevent accidental shut-off. The unit is Docking Station™ compatible to utilize the additional benefits of the Docking Station™.

Key Features

  • Monitors from one to six gases
  • Completely customizable and field upgradable
  • Docking Station™ compatible
  • Standard datalogging and iButton data input
  • Quick-Cal function calibrates four sensors simultaneously

Features & Benefits

  • Up to six interchangeable/field replaceable sensors: Provides flexibility of monitoring in a variety of applications. Reduces operating costs and downtime associated with instrument/sensor service.
  • 50 PPM resolution for hydrocarbons (HC) up to the LEL alarm set point: Allows the user to precisely monitor total hydrocarbons at lower levels.
  • LEL/CH4 sensor over-range protection: Shuts off power to the LEL/CH4 sensor when the concentration of sampled gas exceeds 100% LEL or 5.0% CH4, extending the life of the sensor, ensuring calibration integrity and lowering replacement costs.
  • 4 electrode ammonia (NH3) sensor: Increases the stability and lifetime of the ammonia sensor thus raising the operator’s efficiency and lowering their costs.
  • Interchangeable lithium-ion and alkaline battery packs: A variety of available power sources including the latest rechargeable battery technology provides the user with round-the-clock monitoring capabilities, and battery power available at a moment’s notice.
  • User configurable operating system: Allows user to “tune” the instrument to their specific application for display, alarms, calibration, datalogging and other instrument operations.
  • Simultaneous display of all gases monitored: Provides confidence and ease of use allowing the operator to view all gas readings immediately at a single glance for uninterrupted work time.
  • Compatible with DS1000 Docking Station™: Provides automatic calibration and record keeping, reducing overall instrument operating costs and ensuring proper documentation.
  • One button operation and calibration: Simplifies training and reduces time and calibration gas required for each calibration.
  • Quick calibration feature: With blended calibration gas mixture applied, the Quick-Cal feature will calibrate the sensors simultaneously, saving time, gas and money.
  • RFI (radio frequency interference) protection third party certified to European standard EN50081-2: Eliminates nuisance readings and alarms increasing the accuracy of the instrument while retaining worker efficiency.
  • Access code protection of calibration and alarm settings: Provides security and eliminates tampering with any instrument settings or calibration.
  • Peak/Hold value mode: Allows user to track peak exposures during job functions or at the end of a work shift. Provides tracking of workers’ gas exposures without the complexity of logging data.
  • Optional external parasitic sampling pump: Allows the monitor to be used both for personal monitoring applications and remote sampling necessary in confined spaces. Parasitic pump eliminates need for extra batteries and charging equipment.
